The particulars of the examination are generally published in the Employment News in the month of August. Bulletin, containing details of the programmes, CAT and Programme, Application Forms can be obtained from the main Branches of State Bank of India on payment of requisite amount. The last date for submission of applications is usually 2nd week of October.
Eligibility Requirements : A Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in any discipline recognized by the Association of Indian Universities with minimum of 50% aggregate marks (45% for SC/ST candidates) and (Minimum of 50% aggregate marks [45% for SC/ST candidates]) in any of the Secondary/ Higher Secondary examinations (or equivalent) held by a Board/ University.
Reservation : 15% and 7.5% of the seats are reserved for candidates belonging to SC and ST communities respectively, who satisfy the admission requirement.
Selection : Admission is made on the basis of Common Admission Test (CAT) to be held at various centers, Group Discussion and Personal Interview.

- Reading Comprehension
- Logical Reasoning
Things to remember :
- The question Paper will contain OBJECTIVE TYPE questions.
- 1/4 negative mark for every wrong answer.
- Only those candidates, who secure sufficiently high marks, will be called for Group Discussion and Interview.
- The level of difficulty of the tests has not been the same every year.
- The number of questions keep changing.
- The pattern of the test has also changed very frequently.
