All the applicants are requested to follow the instructions carefully before filling up the application form. Applicants shall check the "Application Process Flow" chart of admission process from University website. Click Here

Understand properly the admission schedule, instructions provided on the University portal before filling the admission form.

Information regarding the Eligibility rules, courses, Subjects available, fee structure, Freeship and Scholarship etc. is available on the University portal.
It is a applicants responsibility to check the eligibility crateria before taking the admissions to any course.

If applicants willing to apply for scholarship or freeship, are requested to read the instructions and required documents carefully. All the documents are compulsory at the time of admission form filling at the ALC. In case of Freeship and Scholarship if the applicants are failed to submit/produce any of the necessary required documents he will not be able to claim for Freeship and Scholarship. ALC will not accept the forms of those applicants.

Applicants passed their 12th examination from other than HSC Maharashtra State Board, other states / NIOS / other than University of Mumbai shall obtain Provisional Eligibility Certificate from IDOL Eligibility office before submitting the application form at ALC. Fill it with black ball point pen only. It is expected that application form should be clearly and completely filled. Avoid overwriting the letters.

Applicants are required to fill up the printed application form with personal details, complete postal address, Reservation, Guardian, academic, Course, elective subject, Demand Draft details, PCP centers, Exam Centers and required Documents information in the application form.

For the purpose of postal communication applicants are requested to fill his complete postal address in the application form. University will not be responsible for postal communication in case of address is wrong.

Applicants are requested to select the subjects carefully as the selceted subject will appear on Hall Tickets.

Fill and attached necessary required documents as per university requirements in Original and Xerox copies.

Draw a Demand Draft with Six months validity (Nationalized Bank Only) of requisite fee applicable to respective course. (See the Fee structure).

Demand Draft should be drawn in the favour of “Professor cum Director, IDOL, University of Mumbai” and it should be payable at Mumbai.

Attach all necessary Original and self attested true copies of the certificates to the application form.

Attached the Original Demand Draft with the application form.

Affix a recent passport size photograph in the appropriate box provided in the application form.

The applicants are advised to visit Nearest MKCL ALC Center (Click on Where to Apply) with the completed application form along with all necessary attested true copies of the certificates, original documents and Original Demand Draft.

The Applicants should carry the Original and attested Xerox copies of required documents for verification & confirmation of Application along with the fee DD at the ALC.
Important instruction regarding Attestation of Documents

The university has decided to accept the self- attested copies of documents /papers provided by the students.
-
It is made clear that if any false attestation / falsified record are detected, the student will be debarred from the university /institute and in addition a criminal case under relevant section of IPC (viz, 470,471,474 IPC etc) will be instituted against him/her to subject him/her to the requesting criminal proceedings.

ALC will verify the original documents and the attested true copies of the documents produced by the students at the time of admission.

ALC will scrutinize the filled admission form, original and Xerox documents, fee, Eligibility criteria etc. of the students.

ALCs are requested to verify all the necessary documents required as per university requirements and do not accept the forms with incomplete documents in any case.

ALC will enter the admission information in his online login.

Before printing the application form Applicants are requested to verify the information filled by the ALC. Once the application form is printed changes cannot be made.

After confirmation of the applicants ALC will print the application form from his login in two copies.

Students will sign the printed application form.

ALC will collect the documents handwritten form, printed form, Certificates/ documents, Original DD, and gives the issue the acknowledgement cum receipt of confirmation of Application Form and documents to students.

ALC will keep all the Original and required documents for admission confirmation process.

Once the application is confirmed at ALC, no change in the application form will allowed.

It is suggested to the applicants to keep a Xerox of the filled up application form and DD with them for record purposes.

Admission form filling at ALC is not a final status of admission confirm. All the application form submitted at University will be checked and verified by the university admission section.

After verification of documents submitted by the applicants University will issue a Permanent Registration Number (PRN) to the eligible students only. The PRN will be communicated to applicants through SMS and email address provided by the applicants in the application form.

Applicants are requested to visit the IDOL/ University website for latest syllabus, admission status, updates, circulars and other current information. Information will not be communicated to applicants personally in any case.

MBA Full Time (MMS) Management Studies in Mumbai University
Course Details
Content
The course content is common for all students in the first year as per the guidelines of Mumbai University. Specialization is offered in the second year (MMS II) when core subjects are taken up by students. The institute also offers electives throughout the course.
Candidates are required to take a practical approach to learning by doing project work, field studies, market research, games applying management concepts and case studies.
Schedule (tentative)
The course is conducted on a semester basis with 4 semesters spread over 2 academic years. The duration of each semester is around 15 working weeks.

Common Admission Test (CAT) for Indian Institutes Of Management (IIM) in Mumbai University
Test (CAT) is held every year generally in the month of December for admission to the Post-Graduate Programme (PGP) of the Master of Business Administration (MBA) at Indian Institute of Management (IIM) of Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Calcutta, Indore, Kozikode and Lucknow
The particulars of the examination are generally published in the Employment News in the month of August. Bulletin, containing details of the programmes, CAT and Programme, Application Forms can be obtained from the main Branches of State Bank of India on payment of requisite amount. The last date for submission of applications is usually 2nd week of October.
Eligibility Requirements : A Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in any discipline recognized by the Association of Indian Universities with minimum of 50% aggregate marks (45% for SC/ST candidates) and (Minimum of 50% aggregate marks [45% for SC/ST candidates]) in any of the Secondary/ Higher Secondary examinations (or equivalent) held by a Board/ University.
Reservation : 15% and 7.5% of the seats are reserved for candidates belonging to SC and ST communities respectively, who satisfy the admission requirement.
Selection : Admission is made on the basis of Common Admission Test (CAT) to be held at various centers, Group Discussion and Personal Interview.

Things to remember :
- The question Paper will contain OBJECTIVE TYPE questions.
- 1/4 negative mark for every wrong answer.

- The level of difficulty of the tests has not been the same every year.
- The number of questions keep changing.
- The pattern of the test has also changed very frequently.

The duration of the course is four semesters. Semester I, II and III are devoted to the course work whereas Semester IV is a full time research leading to a dissertation. Semester IV
Project Work- The project will be a Media Convergence Project. (8 Credits, 32 Weeks)
The students shall be given a choice of three subjects out of which they shall choose one. The student shall research the subject thoroughly and produce the following on that subject:
Story in a skit format for Radio

Video documentary for the television in Beta format

Video for the internet – streaming formats

Video for mobile phones and devices
-
Create a DVD and VCD, both with menus for the same.

Create and Audio CD and an MP3 CD
-
Create a website for project and embed the video and audio.

Create a blog and a Facebook site for promoting the video.

Create promotional material in print to promote your product.
The project will be evaluated as per the following time line and the credits will be awarded accordingly.
32 weeks

First Week : The student shall within one week of choosing the subject, make a presentation on the theme of the project which shall include material by researching it on the internet. The presentation shall be in Powerpoint format.

Eighth Week: The student shall complete an exhaustive, comprehensive research on the subject and make the second presentation.

Sixteenth Week: The students shall present the complete story and the script along with a detailed story board and shooting script. The student shall also present a detailed production plan and budget.

Twenty-fourth week: The student shall present the first draft / cut of the project.

Thirtith Week: The student shall submit the second draft / cut of the project.

Thirty-second Week: The final project shall be submitted in all formats, including the website, blog, community sites, DVDs and VCDs, and portable formats.
Diploma in Documentary Film Making (DDFM) in Mumbai University
TITLE: Diploma in Documentary Film Making
Objective:
- To prepare media students and media professionals to enhance their skills.
- To train documentary film enthusiasts to enter the upcoming documentary film industry.
ELIGIBILITY: Minimum 12 th pass. Students will be taken on first-come-first-serve basis.
DURATION : The course shall be part time for a duration of eight weeks for a total of 64 hours that will include teaching and training.
INTAKE CAPACITY: 20 candidates per batch
FEES: Rs. 15000/- (Includes handling cameras and editing systems)
SCHEME OF EXAMINATION : The examination shall be for 100 marks. (40 marks for theory & 60 marks for practicals).
PASSING: Candidates shall have to score 20 marks in the theory and 30 marks in the practicals for award of the Certificate. Candidates from the Master of Communication and Journalism course who take this course will get an additional credit on completion of this course. This credit shall be mentioned separately in the final mark sheet as Diploma Course in Documentary Film Making.
VENUE: The theory and the practicals will be conducted in the University Department of Communication & Journalism.
